WPTZ‘s morning anchor Alice Kang will soon get to sleep in.

The Burlington, Vt. anchor is leaving the morning shift, a post she’s held since 2018, and will join the evening team at the NBC station.

Kang joins Brian Colleran and Stewart Ledbetter, as well as chief meteorologist Tom Messner.

“Alice has spent the last three years making the Champlain Valley her home and she’s fallen in love with the people and all the area has to offer,” said NBC5 news director Michael LaFlesh. “We’re excited to introduce her to our evening audience, for whom she’ll bring the same energy, and passion for journalism and storytelling that our morning viewers have come to know and appreciate.”

Kang launched the first 4:30 a.m. morning show in the market. She will anchor the 5, 6 and 11 p.m. newscasts, as well as the 10 p.m. newscast on WNNE, the CW affiliate.

“Our NBC 5 Morning News viewers have been so complimentary of Alice’s energy and authenticity,” said NBC5 president and general manager Ryan Rothstein. “We are thrilled to have Alice to join Brian Colleran and Tom Messner, they will be an outstanding NBC 5 Evening News Team.”
