Buffalo’s WUTV Happy Not to Have Conan

Fox didn’t have to spend a lot of money on audience research before deciding against hiring Conan O’Brien for a weeknight, late-night show.

All Fox executives had to do was place a few calls to stations like WUTV, the local Fox affiliate more commonly referred to as Channel 29.

“It would have had a negative impact on our revenue to carry Conan,” said WUTV General Manager Nick Magnini.

He declined to say how negative, but other sources indicated that WUTV might have lost as much as $1 million a year More…
