WGRZ anchor Scott Levin is upset that Niagara Falls Mayor Robert Restaino put his hand close to the camera lens before walking away from an interview on Tuesday night.
Ben Read, a photographer for the Buffalo, New York NBC affiliate, was talking to Restaino after the incumbent won the Democratic primary race when the mayor abruptly ended the interview.
“A bizarre ending to Primary Day in Niagara Falls,” reporter Robert Hackford posted to social media. “My colleague @benphoto716 (Ben Read) had his camera grabbed by Mayor Robert Restaino after he asked how he’d grade the city.”
In the video, Restaino seemed to take offense to the question. At one point he said he didn’t understand why Read would ask, then he said he’d give it an “A” before telling Read he was done. That’s when he put his hand up to the lens and walked away.
“I have a real problem with this…” Levin responded to the tweet. “Our photographer did absolutely nothing wrong… and he deserves an apology from the Mayor.”
