Brian Collister is joining KXAN, the NBC affiliate in Austin, as an investigative reporter.
Collister — who specializes in investigating fraud, corruption and government waste — most recently worked at KTRK, the ABC-owned station in Houston. Before that, he spent several years at WOAI, the NBC affiliate in San Antonio.
“Brian has earned a reputation throughout Texas and across the country as a powerful investigative reporter who gets results and holds powerful people accountable,” KXAN news director Chad Cross said in a statement. “Because KXAN News focuses on in-depth, investigative journalism, it’s crucial to have reporters like Brian on our team. He’s an expert at using our lawful right to access public information. He knows who to talk to, where to get the answers viewers want.”
