Bravo Exec Becomes Bravo Talk Show Host

Andy Cohen walked out of the closet-size space that is his TV talk-show studio and said to anyone who would listen, “I’m shellshocked.”

Live on Bravo, Mr. Cohen had just interviewed Levi Johnston about Sarah Palin‘s sex appeal, struggled to elicit answers from a sidekick character on “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” and asked the actress Vanessa Hudgens, “What girl would make you switch teams?”

For a half hour each week, Mr. Cohen is one of cable television’s most unlikely interviewers. He is the host of “Watch What Happens Live,” a self-referential talk show about Bravo’s own reality-heavy programming and celebrities in the news. Then he resumes his day job as Bravo’s senior vice president for original programming and development. Just as he screens episodes of the housewives and top chefs who define the channel, he watches his own episodes, offering pointed feedback. More…
