Boise Anchor Brent Hunsaker Leaving Broadcasting After 44 Years

After 44 years in broadcasting, KBOI anchor Brent Hunsaker is retiring at the end of November.

Hunsaker told viewers yesterday, that he plans to care for his wife who is battling cancer.

“It’s time to start making up for 44 years of missed holidays, weekends, and nights. Leaving a career that I love will not be easy,” he told viewers. “You’re my inspiration. It has been the greatest privilege of my long career to tell your stories.”

He joined KBOI in 2014. He started his career at KSL in Salt Lake City, Utah, and has also worked in the Rio Grande Valley, Texas, Wichita, Kan., and Kansas City, Mo.
