WCVB sports anchor and reporter Bob Halloran is retiring from the Boston ABC affiliate in May.
Halloran has worked in television for 38 years.
He started at WCVB in 2003 as a freelance anchor and reporter after working at ESPN for three years. He went full time at WCVB in 2014.
Halloran started his career in 1985 at cable station, Cape 11 Alive. A few years later he worked as news director and sports anchor at WCVX in Hyannis, Mass. He then went to work for WPRI in Providence, R.I. and later worked at WFXT in Boston for a couple of years before moving to ESPN.com.
He told Belly Up Sports he plans to spend his retirement “working 24-32 hours a week being a golf pro.” He also said he wants to start an open mic night so he can show off his musical talent.
