Local broadcast channels keep on adding more and more hours. I just noted earlier this week how all four stations have or are planning to tack on a 4:30 a.m. newscast.
WGCL-TV has relatively fewer than the other networks but is starting to catch up. This August or September, it adds a 5 p.m. newscast. This means the CBS affiliate will be the only one airing two and a half hour block of news from 4 to 6:30 p.m. It replaces “People’s Court” at 5 p.m.
