Another WXIA reporter is going to the national stage, Blayne Alexander is joining NBC News Channel, the network’s video and feed service, as a Washington, D.C. correspondent after six years at the Atlanta NBC affiliate.
Atlanta Journal Constitution writer Rodney Ho reports Alexander’s last day is today. She starts at NBC News Channel on Monday, February 27.
“I’m excited about the new adventure,” she told Ho. “But I love Atlanta. I love this community. I really felt like a part of this place. I care about this city. Atlanta will never be in my rear view mirror. I’ll be back here all the time.”
Alexander’s first job out of college was as a production assistant for NBC News on Capitol Hill and at the White House. She started her reporting career at WRDW in Augusta, Georgia before joining WXIA in 2011.
In January Catie Beck left WXIA to be the a correspondent for NBC News in its Southeast bureau.
