Chuck Moore, who anchored at both WXIA and WAGA in Atlanta, has died.
From 1972 until 1979, Moore anchored at WAGA when it was a CBS affiliate. He moved to NBC affiliate WXIA in 1980 and worked there until 1997.
“Chuck had a big impact on my career. Growing up in Atlanta, I had a career day project when I was in 6th grade,” WXIA chief meteorologist Chris Holcomb wrote in a Facebook post. “I interviewed Chuck Moore on the phone for that career day project! I not only made an “A” on the project, I was honored to work with him at 11Alive from 1991-1997. On my first day at work, I went up to him and told him I interviewed him in 6th grade. He told me I made him feel old!”
Moore went back to TV news for several years at former North Georgia CBS station WNEG (now WGTA).
He was 73.
