KGO in San Fransisco is the second ABC station to organize a virtual town hall this week.
The event will happen today at 4 p.m. PT and will address the “protests and outrage over police brutality and systemic racism against Black Americans,” according to the station.
A panel of speakers will answer questions live and provide advice, facts and resources.
Panel members include:
Ersie Joyner, retired captain, Oakland Police Department
Dr. Joe Marshall Jr., executive director, Alive & Free
Paul Henderson, executive director, San Francisco Department of Police Accountability
Samuel Getachew, Oakland Tech graduate; poet, writer, activist
LaNiece Jones, executive director, BWOP (Black Women Organized for Political Action)
The town hall will be moderated and the public will have a chance to ask questions by way of a social media monitor in the studio where hosts will be sitting without a live audience. Panelists will join via Zoom.
The event will air live on KGO and will be streaming on various station digital platforms.
