Andrew Tyree has joined Atlanta NBC affiliate WXIA as a correspondent for the station’s lifestyle show, Atlanta & Company.

In the newly created role, Tyree will will appear weekdays at 11 a.m. with host Cara Kneer.

“I’m thrilled to embark on this journey of storytelling and connection,” said Tyree. “Each morning, I look forward to bringing a fresh perspective, a sprinkle of wit, and a whole lot of warmth from the heart of Atlanta to our viewers. My goal is to give them an unforgettable experience!”

Most recently Andrew served as a host for Tennis Channel’s The Break and for the real estate show Beyond the Block on Amazon Prime/Tastemade.

“Andrew’s passion for exploring cities and helping people get a fresh perspective on where they live is exactly what we were looking for with this new role,” said host Kneer. “I’ve often thought of this show as a love letter to Atlanta by celebrating the city as a premiere destination for lifestyle and business. We’re excited for Andrew to continue this tradition by helping newcomers and lifelong Atlantans experience the area in new ways.”

Born in Nuremberg, Germany to military parents, Andrew spent time in the St. Louis foster care system before starting his journey in the arts. He became the youngest person and the only African American at the time to tour with the Milwaukee Youth Symphony Orchestra.

He also toured with Grammy Award winning singer, Jill Scott, on her national tour in 2013 and has an NAACP Image Award nomination for his work on Verses & Flow, a TV series that features spoken word and musical performances from poets and R&B singers rooted in contemporary cultural, political, and social topics.

He was also a main cast member for two seasons of VH1’s Love and Listings, and helped celebrity clients find homes in Los Angeles.
