According to a help-wanted ad on the Tribune Company’s website, the media conglomerate is seeking an “Executive Producer and Imaginator” to redesign the nightly newscast on KIAH, its television station in Houston.

To get an idea of the challenge the successful applicant will face, imaginate this:

Tribune expects its new hire to create a newscast with no anchors and few on-air reporters. Instead, the “NewsFix” program will feature fast-moving montages of video clips, graphics, maps and sound bites, held together with brief and breezy narration by an off-camera announcer. More…
