Anchor Changes at Colorado Station

By Kevin Eck

KOAA anchor Lisa Lyden is leaving broadcasting after 33 years.

“Family and community are precious to me. I am at a point in my life where it is time to devote more energy to the people I love,” said the anchor for the Pueblo, Colorado NBC affiliate. “Stepping away from the anchor desk and leaving a terrific company like KOAA News5, and my wonderful coworkers, is difficult. But I’m excited to start a new chapter in my life.”

The Gazette reports Lyden will keep working until early Summer.

Brie Groves has also been promoted to morning co-anchor.

Groves joins Ira Cronin, Stephen Bowers and Joanna Wise weekdays from 4:30 to 7 a.m. She’ll also work on investigative stories and anchor the Noon news.

She replaces Shellene Cockrell who is leaving the station at the end of May.
