Anchor Angela Russell Leaving KIRO

By Mark Joyella

angela-russellAngela Russell, news anchor at Seattle CBS affiliate KIRO, will leave the station to “pursue her passion for writing and to spend more time with her two young daughters,” the station reports.

“When I was a rookie reporter in Mobile, Alabama, I never imagined I would have the opportunity to work in Seattle, Washington; especially as the evening anchor! The experiences at KIRO 7 the last 5 ½ years have been surprising, amazing, and life changing. Now, I am ready to move on to my next adventure!” Russell said in a story posted to the station’s website.

On Facebook, Russell promised she’d be making some “behind the scenes” moves:

I am so grateful for the opportunities that I have been afforded at KIRO 7. I will miss my co-workers and the experience of connecting with many of you. Stay tuned! You may see me pop up on KIRO 7 for future projects. Also, I will stay in touch on social platforms and hopefully make some big “behind the scenes” moves in the years to come.
