After Three Years, WGEM Anchor Switches to Weekday Shift

By Stephanie Tsoflias Siegel

WGEM anchor Don Dwyer is moving from weekends to weekdays. But he’ll have to shift his wakeup time. He’s waking up to do the morning news in Quincy, Ill.

“Morning news is great. You’re able to connect with viewers. You help them prepare for their day, rather than recapping things at night,” Dwyer said.

He’s joining Natalie Will and Jeremy Ledford on Feb. 4. Before coming to Quincy, he worked in upstate New York.

Dwyer is 28 and received his degree in broadcast from Marquette University in 2012. He joined the station three years ago.
