After 36 Years, Chandler Exits Myrtle Beach’s WBTW

Popular television personality Cecil Chandler has left WBTW News 13, according to sources at the station’s parent company.

“Cecil Chandler is no longer with WBTW or Media General and he is pursuing other opportunities,” said Ray Kozakewicz, manager of corporate communications for Media General, Inc., which owns the station.

Kozakewicz said he could not comment on the circumstances of Chandler’s departure from the station. WBTW Vice President and General Manager Michael Caplan could not be reached today. Chandler said via phone today that he did not want to immediately comment, but said he would consider making a statement Monday. More…
