Adding Partners, Web News Platform 1Cast Launches

After a year in private beta, personalized video news service 1Cast is finally opening its doors to the public — and at the same time is announcing new content and distribution partners.

The 1Cast service, which allows consumers to create custom playlists of video news clips, is now open for anyone to use. In anticipation for the launch, the company updated its user interface, making it easier for registered users to view news from a variety of different sources and on a variety of different topics.

The company is also expanding the types of content users can choose view, beyond what had been its core focus on business, politics, and world news from content providers such as Barron’s, Bloomberg, the BBC, and Reuters.

With the addition of new content from E! Entertainment and Style, 1Cast will provide more news based on celebrities, media, and entertainment, which 1Cast hopes will appeal to a whole different audience. More…
