Abimael Castro will join Telemundo Boston (WNEU) as a weather anchor for the station’s weekday evening newscasts.
“Abimael has a proven track record of reporting weather conditions and news related to climate change and the environment,” said Damaris Bonilla, news director for Telemundo Nueva Inglaterra and NBC 10 Boston. “His vast expertise in hurricane risk communication and storytelling for Spanish-speaking audiences will help us to elevate our already strong weather reporting to keep our audiences informed with the weather information they need. We look forward to Abimael joining our team and for our audiences to meet him.”
Castro comes from Telemundo 48 (KSTS) in the San Francisco Bay Area, where he’s worked as weather anchor for the station’s weekend newscasts since April 2021.
He makes his on-air debut on January 9, 2023.
