KYTV meteorologist Ron Hearst is being compared to Lebron James on social media right now.
“If Lebron can do it, so can Ron,” said one of his Facebook fans in Springfield, Mo.
That was just one of many memes fans created because of the outfit he wore on air during severe weather coverage Sunday night. According to the station, Hearst was off when stormy weather rolled through the Ozarks.
“He had grabbed an extra jacket, shirt and tie to help with live reports, but not pants. Despite that, I made the decision to add Ron on-air as the weather situation deteriorated and several tornado warnings were issued,” KY3-KSPR news director Bridget Lovelle told the News Leader.
It wasn’t supposed to happen, but during two hours of non-stop coverage his khakis made an appearance and people couldn’t stop taking pictures of their TV.
“In all seriousness, sometimes the weather doesn’t wait for us to put on makeup or get dressed perfectly. We would rather get on the air NOW and alert people to dangerous weather than wait to look perfect. We roll with the punches. I’m proud to have a dedicated boss,” said KY3 meteorologist Amy Dyer.
