WBNS-TV, the CBS affiliate in the nations 34th largest television market, launched its own iPhone application this week.
The Dispatch-owned station said iPhone subscribers can down load the free 10TV app on iTunes and access 10TV News and the stations Web site for real-time traffic and weather updates. A separate 10TVToGo stream is available for non-iPhone wireless devices.
WBNS joins LIN TV in transmitting station content to mobile devices. LIN in August launched News Over Wireless for a custom BlackBerry smartphone app at each of its 27 local TV stations. The same service was already in development for iPhones.
ABC News came out with an iPhone app in January for the networks owned-and-operated stations. More…
