Scripps Hires Former Tribune Exec to Lead Business Development

Scripps has hired a former Tribune executive to lead its next-generation TV efforts.

Kerry Oslund is the company’s new vp of strategy and business development.

“Kerry is a well-regarded media executive who brings a new way of thinking about the future of broadcast television,” said Lisa Knutson, evp and chief financial officer for Scripps. “With Scripps’ new, expanded footprint, we have more opportunity than ever to lead the way on next-generation television, and we believe Kerry is the right leader to oversee those initiatives.”

While at Tribune, Oslund spearheaded next-generation television advertising initiatives and helped Tribune’s podcast network.

Oslund has 37 years experience under his belt.

He was previously sap of publishing and digital at Schurz Communications, where he oversaw daily operations of TV, radio, print and cable businesses. He has held leadership roles at Gannett Broadcasting, which is now Tegna, and other broadcast stations.
