wtxf_jones bye_304As our sister site TVNewser reported, former WTXF anchor Sheinelle Jones has been named news anchor of NBC’s weekend Today Show starting October 4.

In a statement, NBC News President Deborah Turness described Jones as “an experienced journalist, a fantastic reporter and a dynamic interviewer who will bring so much to Weekend TODAY and the entire NBC News team.”

In March, Jones told viewers she was leaving Philadelphia FOX owned station WTXF to be with her kids. She started at WTXF in 2005 as a general assignment reporter. She has also worked at KOKI in Tulsa and WICS in Springfield, Illinois.
