Four NBCUniversal Owned Stations will be launching a 4 p.m. newscast.

Starting in late May, WNBC in New York, KNBC in Los Angeles, WTVJ in Miami and WVIT in New Britain, Conn., will begin airing a one-hour show.

“Our stations have done a great job building their news teams, enterprising stories and delivering our viewers the local news, weather and information that is important to them,” said Valari Staab, president of NBCUniversal Owned Television Stations. “Our new 4 PM newscasts will expand on our local news commitment and offer our viewers even more of what they’re looking for.”

The new show pushes the Ellen DeGeneres Show to 3 p.m. and Steve Harvey to 2 p.m.

WCAU in Philadelphia, KXAS in Dallas-Ft. Worth, Texas, WRC in Washington, D.C. and KNSD in San Diego, Calif. already have a 4 p.m. show.
