Would Attorney General Eric Holder Go On HGTV Before Fox News?

By Brian Flood

He’s not going on Fox News, but Eric Holder is a topic of discussion on the network today. Following yesterday’s news that the outgoing Attorney General was doing interviews with ABC, CBS, NBC and CNN, but not Fox, the snub came up on “Happening Now” this morning. Cal Thomas said it’s no surprise he didn’t sit for an interview: “I think this administration, obviously, from their comments over and over again, hates Fox News.” FNC contributor Judy Miller added she was “surprised” Holder didn’t speak to HGTV before Fox.

Bret Baier addressed the issue on “Special Report” last night, following this statement from Fox News EVP Michael Clemente:

We learned today that Attorney General Eric Holder has conducted interviews with ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN and Politico, while excluding FOX News. The Attorney General’s decision does a deep disservice to America’s largest cable news audience and the interests of a free press. Ultimately, however, we’re not surprised that Holder would try to evade a thorough accounting of his record in office, including his decision to investigate our Chief Washington correspondent, James Rosen through an illegal seizure of emails and phone records of Rosen and his parents. Late today, the DOJ press office said ‘they look forward to accommodating’ Fox News at a future time. We’re hopeful but realistic about whether that will actually happen.

Holder has made news recently for bashing FNC’s “Radical Islam” terminology which “Fox & Friends” didn’t appreciate.
