
The ping pong match for ratings between World News Tonight and Nightly News continues.
The ABC newscast took both total viewers and the A25-54 demo for the week of May 11 following two weeks of viewership wins by NBC Nightly News. Last week’s wins were by the slimmest of margins: ABC won the week in viewers with a 1 percent margin, while the win in A25-54 demo was by just .3 percent.
Compared to the same week last year the David Muir newscast saw the most viewer growth +4 percent, while the CBS Evening News with Scott Pelley was also up: +2 percent. All three newscasts were down in the demo. Lester Holt‘s Nightly News was down -9 percent while ABC and CBS were down -10 percent.
