Brazilian TV reporter Julia Guimarães was about to do a live report before the Japan-Senegal World Cup match Sunday when a Russian tried to force a kiss on her. But she shot him down, telling him in English, “Never do this again. I don’t allow you to do it. This is not polite. This is not right.”
“It’s the second time that has happened to me here in Russia,” Guimarães told GloboEsporte.com. “I’m living it a lot here in Russia. It’s awful. I feel helpless, vulnerable. This time I gave an answer, but it’s sad. People do not understand. I wanted to understand why you think you have the right to do that.”
Great response from Brazilian TV journalist Julia Guimaraes of Sportv to unacceptable behaviour. Not easy to show such restraint in the face of harassment. pic.twitter.com/eFVZz6gdMA
