ABC’s Bob Woodruff will be ‘roasted’ by media colleagues and political figures October 29, as guest of honor at the 19th Annual Roast for Spina Bifida in Washington, D.C. The event was founded in 1989 by Judy Woodruff and her husband, Al Hunt; their 25 year-old son, Jeffrey Hunt, was born with Spina Bifida. Still TBA are names of the ‘roasters’…
Also in the spotlight today is CBS’ Bill Geist, recipient of the 2007 Marist College Lowell Thomas Award. He’ll be honored at a Manhattan luncheon September 27. The Thomas Award recognizes outstanding individuals in the communications industry; previous winners include Eric Sevareid, Walter Cronkite, Cokie Roberts, Tom Brokaw, and Lesley Stahl.
