This year, it wasn’t NBA All-Star Weekend without New Orleans, Dwight Howard‘s Superman dunk or Wolf Blitzer. Dave Walker writes in today’s Times-Picayune about the CNN anchor’s all-star weekend experience, as well as those of some other CNN personalities in town.
Blitzer, who Walker writes is a season ticket holder for the Washington Wizards and regularly attends All-Star Weekend, saw all the festivities live.
Besides working from the New Orleans bureau for CNN during the weekend, he also attended some of the other activities taking place in the area. One notable trip saw Blitzer getting some love from the ladies — the Barenaked Ladies. “They’re huge fans of ‘The Situation Room.’ They watch it all the time,” Blitzer told Walker. “Who knew?”
Walker also gives some detailed notes on the Magic Wall, courtesy of correspondent John King, who was in town as well. “The cab driver who brought me here today said, ‘I love that map board.’ It’s obviously connecting with people in a way beyond what I would’ve thought,” said King.
