• On MSNBC’s Morning Joe, Joe Scarborough said, “it is total crap to suggest that nobody at CNN knew this guy was on the steering committee.” The Fox & Friends hosts also spent time on the subject this morning.

• Sen. John McCain has responded, saying, “I think that should have been made public if this individual was a member of another — any other campaign, then people would, obviously, have a better way of judging the quality of the question.”

• Blogger Michelle Malkin has discovered Kerr was not the only questioner last night who has supported Democratic candidates. Although, supporting a candidate and working for one is quite different.

CNN anchor John Roberts spoke with the man in question, Brig. Gen. Keith Kerr (Ret.) this morning. Kerr told Roberts he’d only lent his name to the steering committee, but had not done any work for them. When asked if the Clinton campaign put him up to asking the question, Kerr responded, “absolutely not, this was a private initiative on my own.”
