From the Tower to the Ice for Donald Trump

By Brian Flood

Bloomberg TV’s Mark Halperin and John Heilemann will interview Donald Trump from Wollman Rink in New York’s Central Park on tonight’s With All Due Respect at 5 p.m. ET. Tonight’s show will also be the first one-hour broadcast, expanded from a half hour. So, why is the Trump interview happening at a skating rink?

The Trump organization, along with another partner, manage Wollman Rink in the southern section of Central Park as well as the Lasker Rink in the northern part of the Park. And of course the Trump name is emblazoned on the boards.

“Trump cites the rink as an example of how he got results when government failed,” With All Due Respect ep Tom Johnson told TVNewser. “So we’re bringing him to Central Park to have him make his case.”

The expanded show will also feature interviews Halperin conducted in Iowa this weekend with GOP candidates Jeb Bush, Ted Cruz, Rand Paul, Marco Rubio and Rick Santorum and a joint interview with Cruz and his father Rafael.
