So what are the rules for campaign contributions at news organizations?

“Giving to candidates is allowed” at Fox News and Bloomberg, but “donations and other political activity are strictly forbidden at ABC, CBS, and CNN, Bill Dedman reports in his front-page MSNBC.com story today.

“NBC, MSNBC and MSNBC.com say they don’t discourage or encourage campaign contributions, but they require employees to report any potential conflicts of interest in advance and receive permission of the senior editor.”
