Where In The World Can Lauer Still Go?

By Brian

NBC is getting ready for another “Where in the World is Matt Lauer?” tour.

This is his eighth trip, and his first since Nov. 2005. It’s being scheduled for the week of April 30, when May sweeps start. That leads a tipster to write: “This was one of the most successful features in the history of the Today show… is this a ploy to hold firm its place above GMA?”

Here’s another question: Lauer’s been to so many places, where else could he go? The P.R. has the list: Easter Island, Panama, Shanghai, Innbruck, Dubrovnik, Botswana, Hong Kong, Moscow, the Pyramids in Egypt, Venice, Athens, the Taj Mahal in India, Sydney, Mount Everest, Rome, The U.S.S. Theodore Roosevelt on patrols in the Mediterranean, The Great Wall of China in Beijing, an active volcano in Hawaii, Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe, Pisa, Florence, Bilbao, the Blue Lagoon in Iceland, Machu Pichu in Peru, an oil rig off the coast of Scotland, Paris, Bangkok, Mykonos, Rio de Janeiro, Marrakech, Skibo Castle in Scotland, Angkor Wat, Monte Carlo and Cannes.”
