What Makes CNN Pipeline So Special?

CNN Pipeline isn’t getting much press yet, except for this story in the Hollywood Reporter.

“What I’m about to show you right now is PlayStation or Nintendo or GameCube,” Jim Walton declared at the TCA Press Tour yesterday, likening the competitors’ products to Pong.

“Four live streams of video content will be available 24/7,” Paul Gough reports. “What ones to show will be chosen by CNN.com’s editors. He said that it will be live but it won’t be raw. There will still be an editorial process, and CNN.com will turn away from anything that doesn’t fit standards.”

Pipeline will be accessed via a downloadable player “which was developed by CNN.com during the past 18 months.”

I agree with Lost Remote: “It’s not clear why Pipeline is so superior. We’ll have to wait and see.”
