What Is Savannah Guthrie’s Biggest Fear?

By Merrill Knox

NBC’s “Today” show had some amphibian visitors this week, and Savannah Guthrie was not happy about it. “Savannah is deathly afraid of frogs,” Matt Lauer told viewers on Wednesday morning as Guthrie cowered (watch the video, below).

Guthrie explained on her strange behavior on the “Today” website, saying her fear originates from her childhood in Tucson. “When it rained hard, these big Colorado River toads would come out and they were so loud,” she said. “Their croaks sounded like large animals outside my window. I had a terrible nightmare that there were frogs under my bed. I was so convinced there were frogs under there that I refused to get out of bed.”
