Longtime Weather Channel meteorologist Dave Schwartz has died.
In February, on World Cancer Day, an emotional Schwartz went on the air and talked about his diagnosis. “I want to let you know the reason why I have lost 35 pounds in the last 5 months is that I am being treated for cancer… Stomach cancer, of all things, for a foodie,” Schwartz said.
Schwartz first joined Weather in 1985. He began on-air work on the channel in 1991 and remained until 2008. He returned in 2014 had been working on Weather Center Live during the afternoon hours.
This was Schwartz’s third battle with cancer. He beat pancreatic twice over the last 10 years.
