V&W: Webcast Is A “Strong Entry”

By Brian

WNT’s 3pm webcast, “World News Now,” “looks like a strong entry into the news wars,” Lost Remote reviews. “Fittingly, this ‘one small step for the web’ closed with a story about the Mars Rovers, ‘Spirit’ and ‘Opportunity,’ that keep on going. Like the rovers, ‘World News Now’ is breaking ground, and moving along with not just a little risk. On its first try, ‘World News Now’ made a solid landing.

The AP’s David Bauder says “having Vargas interview her colleagues about the stories they were working on” set the webcast apart from WNT.

> An e-mailer asks: “How come ABC named their new webcast ‘World News Now,’ when their late evening/early morning newscast on its network goes by the same name?”
