VP Debate: Harwood, Douglass, Election Express

By Alissa Krinsky

More from last night in St. Louis:

• CNBC’s John Harwood, who’s recently done some anchor duty at MSNBC, says he’s “trying it out. I came to TV in the middle of my career. It’s new….the more I do it, the more practice I get, the better I am at it…it’s a lot of fun and I’m trying to get better at it.”

• Former tvnewser Linda Douglass, now a senior advisor to Sen. Barack Obama, says her new job “has been an adjustment. Not more of an adjustment than I expected, but it’s been a big adjustment. First of all…I’m an advocate [now], as opposed to forcing myself myself to be objective, when I’m really not. When I communicate, I’m communicating [Obama’s] words, his ideas, the way that he wants to express his ideas, as opposed to the way that I would express those ideas, so that has been something I’ve had to learn. It’s been interesting dealing with my colleagues — reporters — on the other side of the fence.”

• The CNN Election Express rolls on. And on. Racking up more than 60,000 miles now, the bus has been on the road for a year and a half. Photos after the jump…
