Univision today announced the launch of a slate of new news apps for its local stations in the Los Angeles, New York, Miami, Houston, Dallas, Chicago and Bay Area markets.

The apps will include livestream so mobile users in these specific markets can watch their local Univision station newscasts in real time.

These apps are available on the iOS App Store and on Google Play, and they’re meant to provide Univision audiences in these markets access to latest breaking news, weather, traffic and more, wherever they are.

“The launch of these new apps is the direct result of our re-investment as a company into our local stations across the country, allowing us to elevate the ways in which our viewers can engage with us and stay connected to the news they need the most. Keeping up with your local Univision newscast has never been easier,” Univision senior vice president of news for local media Chris Peña said in a statement. “We are excited to kick off 2019 by providing our audience with the award-winning, hyper-local content that only Univision delivers in an ultra-accessible mobile format they can bring anywhere.”

The new mobile experience is optimized to provide Univision audiences in cities across the U.S. with breaking news notifications, weather forecasts and local programming straight to their mobile devices. Univision’s local affiliate websites around the country have also been revamped to mirror the user experience and aesthetic on the apps.

Key features of the app’s digital and mobile experience include:
