By Chris Ariens

The premiere of the CNN Original Series American Dynasties: The Kennedys was the most-watched cable news show at 9 p.m. ET Sunday night, drawing 1.715 million viewers. That’s +62 percent more than the 1.061 million watching Fox News (Steve Hilton), and +275 percent more than the 457,000 who watched MSNBC (This Happened: Gary Hart scandal). American Dynasties also finished first in the A25-54 demo.

The premiere of Pope: The Most Powerful Man in History won its 10 p.m. ET timeslot in the demo. FNC (Mark Levin) won the hour in total viewers with 1.368 million to CNN’s 1.304 million, and MSNBC’s 525,000.

CNN kicked off its evening with 2 hours of Wolf Blitzer anchoring from 6 to 8 p.m. followed by a new episode of The Van Jones Show, with guests Oprah Winfrey and Ava DuVernay, which won its timeslot in the A25-54 demo.

The next episodes American Dynasties and Pope air this Sunday.
