The 41st Daytime Emmy Award nominations are out, and there are TV newsers up for honors.
CNN’s Dr. Sanjay Gupta is nominated in the outstanding special class series category for “Sanjay Gupta, MD.” The folks from Fusion hope to be singing by night’s end–they’re nominated for outstanding original song for “We’re Fusion.” (Here’s the video).
“CBS Sunday Morning” is nominated for three awards: outstanding multiple camera editing, outstanding directing, and outstanding morning show; for the latter category, they’re up against fellow CBS morning show “CBS This Morning,” also NBC’s “Today,” and ABC’s “Good Morning America.”
“GMA” and “Today” are both up for one other award: outstanding technical team and outstanding live and direct to tape sound mixing, respectively.
The awards show will be held on June 22 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel. HLN had aired the awards ceremony for the last couple years. As of now, there is no broadcast partner for the telecast.
