Tip Leads to Screening Vulnerabilities Story

Exclusive to TVNewser: The CBS Evening News will be leading with a story first obtained from a tip to correspondent Bob Orr. A GAO report has found that components that could be used to assemble an IED were checked past airport screeners at 19 airports across the country.

Undercover investigators went undetected with “components for several improvised explosive devices (IEDs) and an improvised incendiary device.” CBS News will reveal that bomb parts were obtained “at local stores and over the Internet for less than $150.”
