Those Dueling View Hosts

By SteveK

Two View hosts took to competing networks during the 9pmET hour last night to discuss yesterday’s appearance by Michelle Obama as co-host.

Elisabeth Hasselbeck appeared on FNC’s Hannity & Colmes for the first three segments, while Joy Behar guested on Larry King Live on CNN.

Behar joked about the claim Obama went on The View to soften her image. “We can soften anyone up,” she said.

She said she was a fan of Obama: “I went into the whole thing thinking I’d like her, so I have to say it wasn’t a big turnaround for me.”

Hasselbeck noted at the beginning her love of the Fox News show. “This is my favorite show,” she said, before adding, “aside from The View.”

She talked about the hype surrounding the appearance, pitting her conservative views against Obama’s: “Much to the dismay of many, we actually had a civil discussion.”

Sean Hannity asked her if she took it easier on Michelle then she did on Sen. Barack Obama when he appeared. “It would be as if someone came up to me and was critiquing me for the play Tim called on the 20 yard line,” she said.
