Road trip!

Millennial-focused cable channel Fusion announced today it’s launching a weekly, one-hour show this fall in tandem with online news series The Young Turks, founded by former MSNBC and Current TV host Cenk Uygur.

The Young Turks, along with a team of reporters from Fusion, are heading to college campuses across the country to talk about issues that are relevant to college students and millennials during what will most likely be the most pivotal weeks of the general election cycle. The Young Turks 12-week run kicks off on the week of September 5 and will be broadcast on Fusion’s cable and digital platforms.

This is TYT’s first TV show since Uygur hosted a nightly program on Current TV, which evolved into Al Jazeera America. It will be hosted by TYT’s Ana Kasparian and John Iadarola and broadcast in front of live audiences.

“The Young Turks and their distinct, passionate voices will be a valuable addition to our coverage of this unconventional and consequential election cycle,” says Daniel Eilemberg, co-president and CCO for Fusion. “We are excited to hit the road this fall to engage college students from across the country, providing them with a platform to make their voices heard.”

“This election cycle has greatly energized millennials, who have long embraced digital outlets like The Young Turks for their news,” said TYT Network chief business officer Steve Oh. “Fusion will bring The Young Turks to TV and in person in a way that speaks to our digitally-native audience.”
