The Top Cable News Shows in February Were…

Fox News had the top 13 programs in total viewers and the top five programs in the key A25-54 demographic in January 2014. As usual, “The O’Reilly Factor” was the number one program in cable news in both total and demo viewers, averaging 2,937,000 total viewers and 450,000 demo viewers. “The Kelly File” was second in total viewers, with 2,337,000, followed by Bret Baier’s “Special Report” with 2,114,000. “The Five” was second in the demo, with 358,000.

MSNBC’s highest-rated show was “The Rachel Maddow Show,” which placed 14th overall in total viewers and sixth overall in the demo. Maddow’s program averaged 996,000 total viewers and 287,000 demo viewers.

“Anderson Cooper 360” was the top CNN program in total viewers and the demo, placing 23rd and 26th, respectively. The show averaged 421,000 total viewers and 127,000 A25-54 viewers for the month.

“Nancy Grace” led HLN in both total viewers and the demo. Grace’s program averaged 410,000 total viewers and 135,000 demo viewers, placing 25th overall in both ratings measurements.

As for the business networks: “Shark Tank” was CNBC’s highest-rated program, placing 22nd in total viewers and 10th in the demo. “Shark Tank” averaged 474,000 total viewers and 251,000 A25-54 viewers.  The top-rated show on Fox Business was “Varney & Company,” which delivered 121,000 total viewers and 27,000 A25-54 viewers for the month.
