The Top Cable News Programs In Q1 2012 Were…

Among regularly scheduled cable news programs, the usual suspects held court across their respective networks. “The O’Reilly Factor” was the top program on cable news and Fox News, with “The Rachel Maddow Show” leading the way on MSNBC, and “AC360” the top-rated CNN program.

FNC held the top 11 slots among total viewers and the top eight in the key demo of adults 25-54. Maddow placed 12th in total viewers an ninth in the demo, with Cooper placing 10th in the demo and 19th in total viewers.

The top HLN program, also as usual, was “Nancy Grace.”

Special event coverage, including CNN’s January 26 GOP debate and its coverage of Whitney Houston’s funeral, made the top 100 programs, each generating far more than any regularly scheduled cable news program. FNC’s January 16 debate also made the top 100.
