By Chris Ariens

> CNBC’s Carl Quintanilla is in Israel. He’ll report on the 60th anniversary of the state through a business perspective; from the Tel Aviv stock exchange to green business, to running a company on the missile-plenty Gaza border.

> FBN’s Dagen McDowell is profiled in Southern Beauty magazine. Because she is. (She’s from Brookneal, VA). Her personal financial advice: “Keep it simple and keep it cheap. Don’t get caught up in too many complicated investments; a few mutual funds are fine.”

> The NYTimes’ Bill Carter breaks the news that NBC flagship WNBC is launching a 24-hour news network called “New York’s Newschannel” this fall.
