- CNN is partnering with the FAA on using drones for newsgathering purposes. The arrangement integrates CNN’s ongoing research partnership with Georgia Tech. The FAA will use data from the initiative for safe implementation of UAVs as newsgathering tools.
- “CBS This Morning: Saturday” drew its largest viewership ever on Jan. 3. 2.52 million watched the show, the best delivery for a CBS Saturday morning news broadcast since Sept. 23, 2006, when it was known as “The Early Show.”
- Mary Catherine Wellons has been named San Francisco Bureau Chief for CNBC. Wellons, most recently Director of Social Media for CNBC, has also been an LA-based field producer and is a former producer for David Faber.
