The Ticker: CNN, BBC, CNBC…

> CNN is heading south, way south. Turner Latin America and VTR announced today the launch of CNN Chile. The network’s programming will be produced and presented by Chileans for Chileans and broadcast from studios in Santiago using the global resources of CNN Worldwide.The 24-hour, Pay TV news network will launch later this year.

> BBC America is expanding its news programming with the launch of Newsnight later this month. BBC says the weekly news program “will feature some of the toughest interviewers in journalism.” The show will air Fridays at 10pmET beginning Feb. 29. Newsnight comes from the same team that produces Britain’s long-running nightly program of the same name.

> With Americans expected to spend $17.02 billion this year on Valentine’s Day, CNBC.com is devoting a special section to “Love & Money.” Also, on CNBC TV tomorrow night, “The Millionaire Inside: ‘Til Debt Do Us Part” airs at 9pmET.
