The Situation Room’s First Year Of Ratings

By Brian

The Situation Room has improved CNN’s ratings at 4 and 5pm, the network noted today. The program, hosted by Wolf Blitzer, celebrated its one-year anniversary today. (The 7pm hour started airing in November.)

At 4pm, TSR has averaged 178,000 demo and 645,000 total viewers since launch (through Aug. 4). That’s up 60 percent in the demo and 36 percent in total viewers compared to the year before.

At 5pm, TSR has averaged 192,000 demo and 677,000 total viewers since launch, up 38 percent in the demo and 19 percent in total viewers compared to the year before.

In the first four days of August, the 5pm hour of The Situation Room beat FNC’s Big Story with John Gibson in the 25-54 demo. (But FNC almost doubled CNN on Monday.)
